Lau kawar lake, medan, north sumatera
Lake Lau wire is one of the natural tourist attraction in Tanah Karo. The lake, which has the highest reaches a depth of 27 meters is located in the village of Lau wire, a small village majority community livelihoods derived from farming of vegetables and fruits.
How to get to Lake Lau wire? If you are from Medan, you can travel to the Brastagi more with a travel time of about 2-3 hours (depending on whether you use a private vehicle or not).
When you take the bus, from Brastagi, you can ride a mini bus (Takasima) that will take you to the village of Lau wire. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Though far and may be tiring, but your eyes will be refreshed with the rural landscape or panoramic Sinabung.
Lake Lau wire is rich in flora and fauna. It is estimated that in the area which is also known as Forest Tourism kawasaan Deleng Lancuk (HWDL) that there keliung flora species (Quercus), Castanopsis and typeofficus.
Inside lake there are also many species of orchid tree with beautiful flowers. Type founa of them, swamp deer (cervus unicolor), gibbons (Hylobates moloch), weasels (paradoxumus hermaprodicus), forest sheep (naemorhaedus sumatrensis) and hornbills (buceros).
Lancuk Deleng name itself is taken from the name of a hill.
HWDL area within Forest Sibayak II with an area 435 hectares. Including Lake Lau wire has been appointed the nature tourism park in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Forestry No.08/Kpts/II/1989, February 6, 1989.
