Siung Beach is located in a remote area in Gunung Kidul regency, the south district Tepus precisely. The distance is around 70 km from the city center, or about two hours drive. The rock on which the naming of this beach is located slightly jutted into the ocean. The name is taken from the form of coastal cliffs by Wastoyo, a local elder, resembling an ape or Siung Vanara teeth.
