The Tomb of Sultan Iskandar Muda



The Tomb of Sultan Iskandar Muda located within the Banda Aceh State Museum complex, the Tomb of Sultan Iskandar Muda lies with the remains of former Aceh kings and sultands. Most of the tomb were made from volcanic stones and elaborately decorated with Arabic calligraphy.

Sultan Iskandar Muda is an important figure in the history of Aceh. Aceh has experienced the heyday, when the Emperor ruled the kingdom of Aceh Darussalam in the year 1607-1636 he was able to put the Islamic kingdom of Aceh in ranked fifth among the largest empire in the world of Islam in the early 17th century AD. At the time of Banda Aceh which was the center of the Kingdom of Aceh, a region bustling commercial airport because it deals with international trade, especially the area where the archipelago is the Malacca Strait shipping lane traffic ships to transport the foreign trade of
agricultural produce to Europe, Asia.
